The development of this resource was funded by Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga (NPM) The National Institute of Research Excellence for Māori Development and Advancement. As part of the NPM Knowledge Exchange Programme, Rautaki Ltd was contracted to transfer the ‘Uku: Sustainable Fibre Housing’ research project led by Kepa Morgan (Te Arawa) and Rau Hoskins (Ngāti Hau) into a curriculum resource for reo rumaki (Māori Immersion) years 6 to 8 classrooms.

This resource was designed by a team of Māori educationalist and trialed with a group of Māori teachers from TKKM o Hoani Waititi Marae, TKKM o Piripono, TKKM o Puau o te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa in Tamaki Makaurau.
